Honors Curriculum Requirements

Each College of Design student will have different educational, career and life goals. Therefore, each Honors Program of Study (POS) will be different. It is important that you comply with the accreditation standards of your degree program, but beyond that, you are welcome to propose changes and substitutions that will assist you in achieving your goals. Approval of these changes is at the discretion of your academic adviser and the faculty members in your curriculum.

Honors requirements for the POS include:

  1. A minimum of two honors seminars (HON 321/322). Students are encouraged to take as many honors seminars as possible, dictated by interest and time constraints.
  2. A minimum of three honors courses (courses with an H designation). Any course can become an honors course with the instructor's permission. Simply request that you take the course for honors credit and discuss with your instructor possible additional components that might be completed to justify the change in course designation.
  3. Each program must include an honors project.
